Why choose Aria2?#
Aria2 has comprehensive download capabilities, supports BT and magnet links, and performs quite well, with speeds comparable to Thunder.
Although it lacks a native application interface and configuration can be tricky, these issues can be easily resolved with lazy packages.
Fastest lazy configuration:#
- Download the lazy package: LINK
- Unzip the lazy package to the desired folder, configure aria2.conf according to the path.
- Download the Aria2 program from the official website LINK, then unzip it to the folder where the quick setup package is stored, replacing all aria2-related programs and files.
- Click on
Aria2c Starter.exe
orAriaNg Starter.exe
to start downloading. Both are only front-end interfaces that use the aria2.exe service from the files and can be started simultaneously. All software in the package is open-source and green, without any privacy or installation concerns, and the AutoHotkey plugin is prone to false positives.

Taking over browser downloads#
If you want to take over browser download management with Aria2, you need to install plugins/extensions.
Chrome:#
Install the Add to aria2 extension. The download package can be obtained from a domestic mirror site or from the lazy package's built-in files.
If the browser cannot directly install .crx format extensions, unzip the file to a new folder "xxx", then enter chrome://extensions/ in the browser's address bar to enable developer mode, click on Load unpacked, select the folder "xxx" that was just unzipped.
Firefox:#
Install the Aria2 Download Manager Integration extension, and refer to the Chrome extension settings below for configuration.
After installing the "Add to aria2" extension, right-click on the extension icon, click on "Options" > "Settings", and configure as follows:
Minimum monitoring: 10 M, below this capacity will be downloaded by the browser. If Aria2 is to take over all downloads, the minimum monitoring can be set to 0.001.

Note: The "Add to aria2" icon displays "en" when enabled and "dis" when disabled. Clicking on the icon can toggle the usage status.
